Asian Jingle, Oriental Riff, Chinese Riff
The Oriental Riff, aka the Asian Riff or the Chinese
Riff, is a musical riff or phrase that has often been used as a trope or
stereotype of orientalism in Western culture to represent the idea of
the Orient, China, Japan or a generic East Asian theme by Western
It remains an open question as to whether the Oriental riff has an
actual origin in the region it is used to represent or is purely a
Western invention. The notes used in the riff are part of a pentatonic
scale, giving the riff a resemblance to east Asian music.
Welcome to AsianJingle.com
Welcome to Asian Jingle. This website was created by authentic Korean man. Normally, Asian Jingle represents Japanese race, but a lot of people use Asian Jingle to describe Chinese culture. People rarely use Asian Jingle to describe Koreans. In my honest Asian opinion, Asian Jingle doesn't go with Korean culture. Asian Jingle is strictly for Japanese culture (race).
Asian Jingle is a fun little tune. If you have Asian friends, it's OK to sing Asian Jingle as a friendly gesture. Asian people usually don't mind if non-Asian friends sing Asian Jingle in playful manner.
Asian Jingle can be hurtful if it's used in improper manner. It's not OK to hum Asian Jingle to mock Asian people (it would be like using "N" word to black people).
Asian Jingle in comparison to the "N" word.
Some people say it's OK to use the N word if you are black. But I don't agree. I believe "N" word should never be used by anyone even if you are black. (I guess between very close friends... but still).
But, Asian Jingle is different. Asian Jingle is usually fun and harmless. So, feel free to download Asian Jingle rington into your cellular phone and play loud. Feel free to show your interest in Asian culture. Asian people would find it fun and appreciate your gesture. There are a lot of fun loving Asian people out-there.
